I’ve always been wary of people/businesses who use bible verses to try to sell something and boy were my suspicions confirmed here.  We booked a 4D/3N Puerto Princesa/El Nido Tour; from the beginning, this tour was a disaster.

First, he separated me from my family so I had to take a separate flight because the plane was full when we got to the first hotel it was changed and when we got to the new one they weren’t aware that we had two rooms instead of one so it took forever to check-in. The hotel was sub par, no hot water, no soap, no nothing.

The Underground River Tour was okay but not because of the tour guide. It was obvious she was burnt out and didn’t want to be there. The tour was delayed due to weather but that’s not the tour company’s fault but the attitude of the guide was. On the boat, she kept yelling at us to ‘move! move!’. I said ‘It’s move please’ and she repeated ‘Move!’. What’s worse is at the end she asked for a tip! No way Jose.

After the tour, my family and other guests waited almost 4 hours for the van to arrive to take us to El Nido, during that time we became a meal for the mosquitos. We finally got to El Nido at nearly midnight and once again they screwed up the hotel arrangement, not just for us but another family as well. Imagine being up all day, it’s midnight, and you still don’t know where to sleep.  We finally get put in a hotel and discover our room on the 4th floor with no elevator. We specifically told them my father was 73 years old and its very difficult for him to walk up stairs.

Now the worst part, the El Nido Tour.

It started off okay but in the lagoon I got stung by a jellyfish or something. I asked to go back to El Nido to get checked out and the guide told me ‘man you’re crazy this isn’t a private tour. I ended up getting cut on the rocks. I asked H&M for the name of the company so I could write them a bad review but they ignored my repeated requests.

Here’s the tour guide from the island hopping tour A

The City Tour of Puerto Princesa was good. The guide was friendly and it was fun.

Some things I learned:

If the price seems too good to be true it probably is

Be wary of these travel agencies that don’t allow independent reviews on their pages. They only post the experiences that they want you to see.

Filipinos LOVE to play victim no matter how wrong they are

I’m not the only one to have a bad experience:
