Cheryl Hawkins Bautista was arrested after an altercation with a police officer in a restaurant in Las Piñas City. The incident began after the American attempted to pay for her meal with a credit card. After the owner informed her the establishment didn’t accept plastic Bautista became belligerent causing the owner to call the police.
The officer attempted to get her side of the story but the woman continued her belligerence yelling profanities at the officer. At that point, the officer went in to arrest when he was slapped by Bautista. The woman was arrested and charged with direct assault, disobedience to a person in authority, oral defamation and alarm and scandal have been filed against the suspect who remains behind bars at the detention facility of Las Piñas City police.
The police indicated that the woman was intoxicated during the incident.
